Sultry Industrial Garden Romance | Jam Factory Wedding Venue Toronto

Sultry Industrial Garden Romance at The Jam Factory

Jam Factory Toronto only came into existence about a year ago, and already it has almost 100 bookings.
It’s no wonder – it’s got the raw brick and beam loft charm that Torontonians love.
The character of this place is unmistakeable. When you walk up the stairs that connect it to its downstairs neighbours, Merchants of Green Coffee, you know this place is the real deal – a historic site that has been given new life.

We had the pleasure of shooting in the Jam Factory during its ‘soft opening’ period. What struck us immediately about this Toronto loft venue was the distressed brick and natural light that added a warm and sensual quality to the shoot.
We had a general design idea for the shoot, but we let the amazing light streaming through – and the #vibes of our real couple models – dictate the, shall we say, ‘sexy’ mood.
And thus, the sultry romance theme was born.

Have a look through some highlights from this Jam Factory Toronto shoot, planned by June Bloom events. More about the shoot including  the phenomenal team at the bottom of the post.

Artist Statement

This shoot at Toronto loft venue Jam Factory was foremost about the palpable fire between the couple, and the details played off the idea of a deeply romantic occasion.

We created the feel of timeless romance with the simplicity of nature brought indoors, candlelight and the chemistry between these two.

Our colour palette and design theme hones in on some of the latest trends, including handmade repurposed vintage choker, an off the shoulder dress and a focus on this year’s pantone colour of the year, Greenery.

The centrepiece, bouquet and feature wall are mostly foliage since it can indeed be breathtaking on its own.

The decor and styling included classic looks with a modern take – like the thatched ivy framing the ceremony space and a classic chignon undo that was slightly tousled.

DARK FLORAL WEDDING INSPIRATION

Moody wedding ideas with an elegant, romantic edge.
Originally inspired by the moody floral backdrops in interior design, Denise from Make my Day Count explored the juxtaposition of light and airy florals and loose greenery against an architectural beauty of a building, the Hartman Gallery. Photographed by Anastasia of Olive Photography, the textures of velvet, linen and lace bring back nostalgic thoughts that the space longs for. Lace gowns by Catherine Langlois compliment the look with a current and fresh look in Make-Up by Nicole Richards. A harvest table laden with antiques courtesy of Sandra from the Hartman Gallery and lush velvet runner by Susan Murray are complimented perfectly by the asymmetrical centrepiece by Julie at Petals & Stems.  Pretty, perfect stationary, with just enough detail yet simple and classic by Paper Decorum and designed by Darling Juniper. Pulling inspiration from the rustic design of the table space, a birch teepee was built to frame out the tall and elegant cake designed by Christina from The Cocoa Cakery. Delicate sugar flowers and berries round out the floral design and overall moodiness of this picture perfect day.

‘The Day After’ – Styled Shoot

March 23, 2016

Toronto wedding photographer - Olive PhotographyToronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography You spend so much time planning your wedding, but what happens the Day After your wedding? When the festivities are over, you get to wake up next to your life partner, and savour the new reality.
Sleeping in, enjoying some leftover cake with breakfast, and lots of cozy cuddling. This styled shoot was quite a spur-of-the-moment decision this Winter and I worked with some phenomenal Toronto vendors to get it together within a month. Though it was cold out, we styled this shoot with the nearly-approaching Spring in mind.Because, just as Spring is a beautiful new start after Winter, the day after your wedding is the start of a new journey together.

We found inspiration in the lovely blue blooms – muscari and forget-me-nots – that are amongst the first flowers to appear as the weather starts changing. We carried these blues throughout this sweet shoot – from the fabrics, stationery and other details to their florals and her incredible Art Deco star sapphire antique engagement ring. We also brought in complimentary touches of orange with kumquats in the bouquet and on the cake, as well as the jam they spread on their morning scones.

Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Being foodies, they also had tiny little forks in the boutonniere and bouquet.
Which were super adorable – though not quite as adorable as the amazing chemistry and love between these two. (Yes, they’re a husband and wife in real life!)

Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive PhotographyToronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography Toronto wedding photographer - Olive Photography The vibe of this shoot is cozy, peaceful, intimate and playful.
We followed these two as they eased into their first day as newlyweds and then ventured out for their honeymoon.
They first took it easy with breakfast in bed, sweet and silly moments reading to each other, romantic candles and cozy moments, and a tablescape with details from their wedding festivities – including cake that they of course had to dig into!

Sneak Peek! Day After Session – Styled Shoot

March 8, 2016

Day After Session – Sneak Peek!

Helloooo, everyone!
I’m super excited to (almost) share this session with you.
It was my first time planning a styled shoot and I am so thrilled with how it all came together. The concept was the ‘day after’ the wedding – the first day as newlyweds, incorporating some details from the festivities the day before.
Cozy, relaxed, playful.
I won’t say much more just yet, but I will share a few little sneak peeks – stay tuned for more!
