Eglinton Grand Wedding
Alissa and Jason had an elegant Gatsby-themed wedding at the Eglinton Grand Theatre venue.
The Eglinton Grand space has a feel of an upscale but still cool Art Deco theatre that begs for ritzy Hollywood styling.
Toronto wedding planner Fidan at Designed Dream Wedding Planning absolutely rose to the task, filling the space with lush and large ornamentation, including tall feather-tipped florals (by Flowers Time) as well as sparkling plates, decorations & linens and strings of pearls.
We also spent some time walking the streets of downtown Toronto for their portraits, and I love the juxtaposition of city grit and formal elegance of this wedding. It’s a cool contrast.
You may remember these two from their Liberty Village engagement session (check it out if you missed their love story!), and now after 5 years together these two love birds are married. I’m so happy for them!
Here’s a peek at their special day, along with some insider thoughts about wedding planning from the couple at the bottom of the post!
Enjoy! And congrats again Alissa & Jason!
And here are some insights from the couple themselves, and the vendor team who brought this day together:
- What is your wedding theme / style / colour palette? Why did you choose this
Gold/white/Black/blush. I love these colours together and feel they work perfectly with the venue.
- What 3 words best describe your wedding?
Elegant, romantic, party
- Venue: What made this venue the one for you?
Character– we REALLY did not want to get married in a hall in Vaughan, we fell in love with the character of this venue. Location – we wanted to get married at a venue downtown. Price – the most reasonably priced and accommodating venue we met with compared to other downtown wedding venues.
- Photographer: How did you know you had found the right photographer?
When meeting with photographers, we met with three in one day, after that first day, we knew Anastasia was the photographer for us. We love her personality, natural and not so edited photography style, her use of natural light, and how she captures the perfect “in between” moments.
- Any words of advice for couples planning their wedding?
Say goodbye to the budget you had in mind ☺ haha
